Karla Sy is a Canadian writer and educator of Filipino-Chinese descent. She grew up in the Philippines and Hong Kong and has also lived in Boston, New York, and Shanghai. She draws on her multicultural background to write stories exploring culture, identity, and family relationships. Karla holds bachelor’s degrees in international relations and economics from Tufts University and a master’s degree in international affairs from Columbia University.
